BRIDGE SUPPORT GUIDE

Why You Work Through BRIDGE, Not Just the School

What we actually do for you, and what it can look like without it

Visa administration is legal exposure, for you more than anyone. This guide explains why we stay involved through the process, and what tends to go wrong when that gets skipped
The scenarios below describe real patterns we've seen, not something we're claiming will definitely happen to you. Use them to understand the risk, not as a guarantee of any outcome

01. Why Go Through the Agency at All

Why You Came to UsThink back to why you applied through an agency in the first place. Most people don't know Korea's visa process well and want a safe placement without navigating it alone, that's exactly what we're here for. And it isn't one-sided, even if you're thinking you and the school could just sort things out between the two of you, the school wants a professional, safe process through us too. It's genuinely easier for them to route this through people who handle it every day than to have one of their own staff dedicated to just you
What Skipping Us RisksIf you deal only with the school and something goes wrong later, unpaid wages, a broken contract, we're not positioned to step in. We also vet institutions in advance, sometimes a place turns out to be unable to register a foreign teacher at all. Going around us removes that filter
Why the School Uses Us TooVisa paperwork is specialized, and a school generally wants to focus on teaching rather than take on that legal exposure themselves. Routing it through people who handle this daily protects both sides

02. Is Sharing Your Information Safe

Legal FrameworkKorea's Personal Information Protection Act is a strict framework, and BRIDGE operates as a registered business handling hundreds of teachers a year, not an informal setup managing just you
What It's Used ForYour information goes toward one thing, your immigration paperwork. There's no other use for it and no benefit to us in it beyond that
Our Actual JobGetting you properly registered and legally working, and having a backup ready the moment something goes wrong administratively. If you asked for help finding a job, trust the process through to a completed visa

03. If You'd Rather Handle It Directly From Here

Say So, Don't Go QuietAfter your visa application is submitted, if you'd prefer to handle your remaining documents or reservation details directly with the school, tell us clearly, don't just stop responding. Something like: "I received my reservation number for [date]. Since I'd prefer to keep my personal information limited, I'd like to hand over the remaining documents directly to the school manager by Friday"
What Happens NextSay it plainly like that and we'll ask the school manager to take it from there directly, no hard feelings. A clear heads-up gets you help, going silent just leaves everyone guessing

04. Real Situations Worth Knowing About

Being Told Not to Trust UsIf an employer claims the agency has been saying bad things about you, ask yourself if that even makes sense. We only get paid when a placement actually works out, so what would we gain from undermining you? And consider the source, trying to turn you against the people handling your visa isn't the behavior of someone acting in good faith either
School Handled It AloneA school's own admin team missed a document because a rule had changed and they didn't know. With no agency coordinating the fix, the correction window passed, and the teacher had to leave and reapply from scratch, on their own time and cost
Going Quiet Has Real CostsIgnoring document requests and dealing only with the school can mean arriving at your immigration appointment with something missing. A failed appointment over it also makes it harder for an agency to vouch for you smoothly the next time
Immigration Outranks the SchoolIf a director says "we're fine with it," that carries no legal weight with immigration. When something goes wrong, the fine and the consequences land on you, not the school
"Let's Just Deal Directly"Sometimes a school offers to cut the agency out and add our fee straight to your pay. It's a genuinely tempting offer, but think carefully about what it means to start by working around an agreement you already made with us. Ask yourself honestly, is a school that promised to communicate through the agency, but now wants a side deal behind that agreement, actually being an honest school? Real cases exist of teachers who took the extra pay and worked off the books, only for the school to stop paying wages for months. One case turned into a lawsuit that has dragged on for years. If that arrangement falls apart, an agency that was never part of it has no standing to step in and help you
Money Requested Outside the ProcessOccasionally a school asks a teacher directly for a "visa deposit" or admin fee. Without an agency in the loop to confirm what's legitimate, a payment like that can simply go unanswered along with the school afterward
Asked to Work Somewhere Your Visa Doesn't CoverE-2 status is tied to your registered institution. Being pressured to cover a different branch or a different age group without proper authorization is a real violation, and if it's ever inspected, you're the one who has to answer for it
If anything about your situation feels off, or you're being asked to do something outside your contract, message your BRIDGE recruiter directly. A quick check costs nothing, sorting out a real problem after the fact costs a lot more
