Document Checklist for D Visa Holders
Changing to E-2 inside Korea from D-2 유학 D-10 구직 or H-1 관광취업
| Rules change without notice and each office can ask for more on the day. Confirm your own case on HiKorea or by calling 1345 before you file |
01. Is This Page For You
| Yes if you hold | D-2 student D-10 job seeker or H-1 working holiday and you are staying legally right now |
| Your stay is valid | Your current permission must still be alive on the day you file. Once it lapses you are treated as overstaying and the change is refused |
02. Required Documents
| 1 | Colour copy of your passport |
| 2 | Passport photos 3.5 x 4.5 cm Must follow the Korean ID photo standard. Do not submit any photo you happen to have. Taken within the last 6 months. Plain white background. Both eyebrows and both ears fully visible. Head from crown to chin about 3.2 to 3.6 cm. Face forward with a neutral expression and mouth closed. No hat no hood no scarf and the neckline must show. Avoid a white top since it blends into the background. No heavy editing and no colour lenses. Photos are refused at the counter every day for these reasons |
| 3 | Alien Registration Card Original and a copy |
| 4 | Integrated application form 별지 34호 Available at the office or on HiKorea |
| 5 | National criminal record check Apostilled. National level only. State or city checks are refused |

| 10 | Updated CV |
| 11 | Fee 100,000 KRW for the change plus the ARC charge. Paid by revenue stamp inside the building |
03. Points That Catch People Out
| Medical Timing | You need the sealed certificate in hand on the day you file. Book the test well before your appointment since results can take from a day to over two weeks |
| Sealed Envelope | Never open the medical envelope. An opened envelope is refused on the spot |
| Criminal Record | Usually treated as valid for about 6 months from issue. Do not get it too early |
| Your Name | Your legal name must match exactly across the passport the degree and the criminal record check. A middle name on one document but not another causes real delay |
| Which Office | The office covering your residential address not your school |
| School Papers | Ask your school early. Nobody sends these for you and you carry them on the day |
04. Do Not Start Teaching Yet
| Teaching before the change is approved is unauthorised activity. A student or working holiday visa never covers language instruction. Wait for the approval even if the school asks you to start early. If anything goes wrong it falls on you not on them |
05. Final Check
| ☑ Current stay still valid ☑ Degree and criminal record apostilled ☑ Name identical on every document ☑ Contract signed ☑ Medical done and still sealed ☑ School documents collected ☑ Passport ARC photos form and fee ☑ HiKorea appointment booked at the right office |
| Confirm the recipient before you post anything. Check the exact BRIDGE or school address with your recruiter first. Never send original documents without approval Questions to bridgejobkr@gmail.com or call 1345 for English immigration support |
